Not long ago,
Apple brought a variety of new products at the spring new product launch, the most notable of which was the introduction of a new display of the iPad Pro 12.9-inch version.
it should be noted that the body thickness of the new generation iPad Pro is 0.5mm larger than the previous generation. There have been many speculations that the machine will not be compatible with the previous generation’s Magic Keyboard.
Recently, Apple confirmed this in an official Magic Keyboard document.
Apple said,The first-generation Magic Keyboard (A1998) is functionally compatible with the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (fifth generation) with Liquid Retina XDR display.Due to the slightly thicker size of this iPad Pro, the Magic Keyboard may not be installed accurately when closed, especially when a screen protector is used.
This means that if users can barely use the combination of the new iPad Pro 12.9 and the old Magic Keyboard without the film, they will completely lose support after attaching the protective film and need to buy a new generation of Magic Keyboard.
The new Magic Keyboard is basically the same as the previous generation, but it will have better compatibility with the new generation of iPad Pro.The magnetic attraction solution is still used for adsorption on the shell, and there is no need to plug in wires, switches, and pairings. It can be used immediately after adsorption, and it can be done in one go.
At the same time,
the new Magic Keyboard also integrates backlit keys with a scissor structure of 1mm keystroke, and a touchpad that supports multi-touch gestures. It can interact with the iPadOS system and can be charged directly through its own USB-C interface.
